Ayurveda  (the knowledge about life) is an Ancient Indian system of preventive & curative medicine and was form of basic medicine in Indian Culture. The Susruta Sa?hita and the Charaka Sa?hita, and the Vagbhat Samhita, encyclopedias of medicine are among the foundational works of Ayurveda. Over the following centuries, ayurvedic practitioners developed a number of methods, medicinal preparations and surgical procedures for the healthy living& treatment of various ailments.

At an early period, Ayurveda adopted the fundamental science based on of the “Panchamahabhoot Siddhant” i.e. P?thvi, Jala, Agni, Vayu and Akasa that compose the universe, including the human body. Ayurveda describes types of body components, known as the Tridosha and Saptadhatu. Ayurvedic literature deals elaborately with measures of healthful living during the entire span of life and its various phases and for the same, Ayurveda stresses a balance of the above mentioned body components. According to ayurvedic medical theory, these body components are important for health, because when they exist in balanced state, the body will be healthy, and when imbalanced, the body will be unhealthy in various ways. While surgery and surgical instruments were employed from a very early period, Ayurvedic theory asserts that building a healthy metabolic system, attaining good digestion, and proper excretion lead to vitality.
